This service consists in sending, daily, to those small villages which have no sanitary structures whatsoever, nurses who perform mainly post and pre natal assistance and carefully take note of growth factors of children from birth up to 5 years of age.
During their visits the tasks of these nurses include: vaccination, distribution of medicine, medication of wounds, healing minor ailments and, where necessary, facilitating recovery in the nearest hospital.

The nurses also provide basic notions on first aid to the new mothers as a guide to what could happen to their babies and give advice on family planning.
Another important task undertaken by the nurses is their acknowledgement of an alimentary emergency arising in the various villages that they visit in order to so, promptly, organize a well-planned food supply distribution.
At present the villages visited by the Mobile Clinic, on a rota system, are fifteen and the work carried out over the last nine months can roughly be summarized as follows:

Children from 0 to 5

11.060

Pre-natal assistance

  2.037

Patients treated

  4.466

Family planning

  2.355

TOTAL

19.918

The four nurses use a Land Rover to visit, every day, a different village since this is the only way to reach these remote places hidden in the under-bush. The team for the Mobile Clinic is three nurses and a driver and the monthly cost is equivalent to Euro 1.140.
