Who are we and how do we work

WHO ARE WE

"Pamo" in the Cicewa dialect of Zambia means "Together"
A word that implies an aim and a programme.
The scope is to offer help to the population of a developing country and in particular to those living in Zambia.
The programme aims to an unmercenary recuperation of anything that could help to reduce the suffering of the needy.
"Together", furthermore, expresses a united resolution which is the foundation of every civility, particularly that of Christianity that is based on prayer as well as on tangible works, true to the principle of a faith where word and operate must be inter-combined.
"Together" is, perhaps, a trip of extraordinary communion between people, a sign of the concept of brotherhood, so intimate and often shared. It is, however, sometimes difficult to direct because in the tension of attempting to actually extend a hand to those who really need it one fears that the subtle perfume of friendship will evaporate.

HOW DO WE WORK

PAMO o.n.l.u.s. functions in Zambia through a local association called Zambia Helpers Society (ZHS). Representatives of PAMO o.n.l.u.s. are present in the ZHS’s Management Board to carry out the task of:
- strategy laying down
- approval of investments and expense budget
- control of balance.

The works of ZHS are carried out entirely by local personnel.
This is another strong point in PAMO o.n.l.u.s.’s strategy.
If it is desired to help this population to come out of the dire situation of misery in which they currently find themselves we must do so by suggesting the solutions but not by taking them over. This is the longest and most difficult way but it is the only solution via which to create something that will last in time.
